Located in the town’s original medieval area, it has an impressive façade made of ashlar work, and a large entrance archway that is slightly pointed and contains large keystones. The arch is enclosed by a richly carved doorway that is decorated with grotesque motifs, and it can be dated to the first half of the 16th century: monsters that adopt plant shapes, men with birds’ wings and feet, candlesticks, medallions and heraldic motifs. Grotesques are decorative Renaissance features that originated in Italy and were inspired by Classical-Roman tradition. The house’s main door, which is undoubtedly one of the finest pieces of the Renaissance on the Iberian Peninsula, can be seen inside the building.
