On the Saturday before Palm Sunday, the local council of Bergara organises a livestock and agricultural fair. It is one of the most popular fairs in the town, being held in the square in front of the town hall. In turn, the Saturday fair is preceded by a bertsolari festival on the Friday evening. Bertsolariak are extempore Basque verse singers.
